Pentland Pet Services Monthly Newsletter - February.

With the new PPS season about to kick off we are looking forward to welcoming back many of our regular lodgers, plus some 'newbies'. It is so nice to see the dogs race down the driveway, obviously as delighted to see us as we are to see them. For new lodgers a pre-lodging visit is arranged to let owners and dogs check things out and to give the paws up.
One new boy, Jake, suffers terribly from separation anxiety following a traumatic experience in kennels, so in his case I have been joining him and his owner Linda regularly for walks and then back to the house for a visit. By the time Jake comes to lodge in June he should be quite at ease with his surroundings, and enjoy his holiday.
At the other extreme is Trixie, who presents anyone who comes to her house with her leash, be it family, friend or workman. Yes, Trixie is ready for a walk anytime with anyone.

As a rule I don’t take dogs from different families at the same time, however, when asked to book Rufus the King Charles Spaniel at the same time as Tootsie (who is a cross Lhasa Apso, Pomeranian, and Bichon!), I decided this could well be a match made in doggie heaven.
Both dogs share a similar nature and energy, love the company of other dogs, and have lodged with me before. So a meeting between Rufus and Tootsie has been set up and I predict a fun filled day for all of us.

I saw many happy dogs having the time of their lives in the recent snow, however I think the novelty was beginning to wear off even for them - and definitely for their owners.
Here’s hoping for some pleasant Spring weather and lots of interesting dog walks.
                                      And no mud!

                                      Anne
